June BULFORD CAMP
1st Tuesday Companies at the disposal of Company Commanders for cleaning arms, ammunition etc. Battalion relieved 5th South Staffs in the trenches. One company 8th R Bde. attached for instruction.
  WULVERGHEM
2nd Wednesday Situation quiet.
3rd Thursday Situation quiet.
4th Friday Situation quiet.
5th Saturday Battalion relieved by 5th South Staffordshire Regiment in the trenches. 8th Rifle Bde Company returned to own Battalion. Casualties  (other ranks) 1 Killed 4 Wounded.

6th Sunday Sunday
7th Monday Disposal of Company Commanders for cleaning of arms, ammunition, clothing etc.
8th Tuesday Cleaning arms, ammunition and equipment. Company drill. Rapid loading and aiming. Inspection of respirators.
9th Wednesday Battalion relieved 5th South Staffordshire Regiment in the trenches at 8.30pm.
  WULVERGHEM
10th Thursday Situation quiet.
11th Friday Line continually shelled by enemy, no damage done.
12th Saturday Situation quiet. Battalion relieved by 5th South Staffordshire Regiment in the trenches. During the tour "C" Company Rifle Brigade was attached for instruction. Total casualties for the tour:- 2/Lieut. H W Bostock killed in action 11-6-1915. 1 man killed and 9
wounded

13th Sunday Cleaning clothing, arms, ammunition, equipment etc.
Respirators inspected by Commanding Officer.
14th Monday Cleaning arms. ammunition etc. Inspection of boots.
Inspection of smoke helmets and respirators.
15th Tuesday Battalion relieved 5th South Staffordshire Regiment in the trenches.

16th Wednesday Situation quiet.
17th Thursday Situation quiet.
18th Friday Situation quiet.
19th Saturday Situation quiet. Battalion was relieved by 5th South Staffordshire Regiment in the trenches.

Total casualties during the tour:- 2 men wounded.

21st Monday Cleaning clothing, arms, ammunition. Inspection smoke helmets and respirators.
22nd Tuesday Cleaning arms, ammunition, equipment.
23rd Wednesday Route march.
24th Thursday Route march.
25th Friday Battalion marched to fresh billeting area.
  OUDERDOM
26th Saturday Cleaning arms, ammunition etc.
27th Sunday Sunday.
28th Monday

Running drill. Bayonet fighting etc.

29th Tuesday Route march. Bayonet fighting.
30th Wednesday Route march. Bayonet fighting etc.
An inspection by the Commanding Officer was held daily of smoke helmets and respirators.

    my grandfarther harry causer, served with the 1/6th Battalion from 1914 untill 1917 regimental No 2509 is it possible to tell from this number what company he would have served in,he was transferred to the royal engineers from 1917 untill the end of the war.
