Ewart Barratt was the youngest soldier from the Staffordshire Territorial battalions to die during their tour of duty in the Wulverghem sector. He had joined the 6th South Staffords at Wolverhampton shortly before the outbreak of the war. Son of Sarah Ann Barratt, of 104 Napier Road, Wolverhampton, and the late George Barratt.

He is buried in St Quentin Cabaret, Plot I Row E Grave 17

    Ewart Barratt was my uncle. (My age is 84)
    I have my uncles medals and the bronze memorial plaque
    originally sent to my Grandmother, and via my Father, I
    inherited the collection.
