Son of Sarah Ellen Riley (formerly Turner) of 7 Fellow Street, Blakenhall, Wolverhampton, and the late William Turner. Harold Turner had joined the 6th South Staffords at Wolverhampton in September 1914.

He is buried in St Quentin Cabaret, Plot I Row E Grave 19
