4185 Private John Barratt
2/6th Battalion, The South Staffordshire Regiment

John Barratt began his embodyment on the 9th May 1915. During his embodyment it was found that he was under age, and he was discharged on the 15th October 1915, when he was aged 18 years, 339 days. At that time the battalion was at Batchwood Camp, St. Albans. John lived at 81 Salop Street, Wolverhampton.

His medical at discharge gave the following:
Height : 5′ 2 1/2″
Chest : 31″, expansion 2 1/2″
Description : Fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair

His military character was desribed as:
Fair. Attentive to duty, fairly clean, sober.

His date of birth must have been ~ 1st November 1900
